Location – Kings Cross Central, Eastern Goods Yard / University of arts
This large project was taken on by quicksand flooring in march 2011 and was an unusual project for everyone involved. The wood blocks are end grain and was laid individually one by one leaving a small gap between each block to allow for expansion. In total a million and a half blocks were laid over an area of nearly three thousand square meters.
Then it was quicksand floorings job to sand all of the areas and apply a two part oil which gives the floor an added durability for the amount of traffic such a floor would be exposed too. Needless to say we carried out the entire job with the up most professionalism and the client was impressed with the way we worked and also worked with them.
We will carry out all maintenance on the floors re applying a freshen up product every 6-9 months depending on wear of surface.
